Self-care is an all-encompassing concept. It doesn’t just involve spa visits and blissful nights of peaceful sleep. A lot falls under self-care, but there are a few practices you can adopt to help you with your physical self-care. Your health is truly your wealth. 1. Use a humidifier.
A humidifier is an especially good tool to use if you live in an area that experiences the winter season. The cold air is terrible for the skin and pulls moisture away. A humidifier restores the moisture back into the air. If you sleep next to a humidifier, you’ll get the benefits of comfortable nasal passages and vocal folds. During the winter months, the dry air can take a toll on those areas as well.
2. Take a daily vitamin.
It can be understandably challenging to get all of your daily vitamins and minerals in every single meal. Plus, it can be a headache to tally up all of the nutrients you need. Instead, make sure to include lots of healthy fruits and vegetables into each meal. Once that’s done, it’s also wise to use supplements. Consider taking a multi-vitamin in the morning. 3. Drink fruit-infused water.
Many people eat food when in reality, their bodies are in need of hydration. When you wake up in the morning, always grab a bottle of water first. Drink it before doing anything else. 4. Exfoliate your skin.

5. Wear supportive shoes.
Your feet carry you throughout the day. Whether you’re running a marathon or walking to the bus stop, your feet bear the brunt of it all. Treat your feet well by wearing supportive shoes. For the unsupportive shoes that you love dearly, add supportive insoles. However, from this point forward, make it a point of purchasing shoes that will support your feet, posture, and health. After all, they’re all connected.
If it feels too overwhelming, try to incorporate one new habit each week. Put a timer on your phone that reminds you to do some of these tasks. As you get into the habit, you’ll reap the benefits. As you reap the benefits, your desire to continue these practices will increase. Self-care isn’t an overnight fix or a band-aid. You’ll have to put in the work to see results, but the effort is worth its weight in gold.
