When designing a website there are some standard structural elements that need to be included. The header area of your site is a place where visitors to the site will be able to find contact details and navigate the website. Here are some of the key elements that should be included:

  • Company logo – this is usually displayed on the left-hand side of the navigation area and is a good way for people to be able to identify the site as yours
  • Contact information – this tends to be your telephone number and in some cases your email address
  • Social Media Links – in some cases you might have these placed in your footer, but as people tend not to scroll to the bottom of a website it is a good idea to also include these in your header area
  • Navigation links – this is the menu area where visitors to your site will be able to navigate through each of the pages
