Driveways and Hardstandings
This form of concrete can be left to sit for long periods of time and can handle many freeze/thaw cycles which makes it ideal for a driveway in a location such as Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.
Foundations for Extensions and Outbuildings
Strip or pad foundations are typically cast in C25 concrete and a minimum depth of 200mm for single-storey extensions. Garden Paths and Patios
A C20 mix would be sufficient for a concrete garden path and patio. It should be laid with a slight fall of around 1 in 60 to allow rain to run off from the house.
Agricultural and Yard Slabs
Farmyards and machinery stores are ferociously abused and therefore a C30 or stronger mix would be specified, with steel mesh reinforcement.
Commercial and Industrial Floor Slabs
Industrial Floor Slabs. Commercial and Industrial Floor Slabs are similar to Agricultural and Yard Slabs. However, they require a greater strength grade and a tighter tolerance for flatness. Issues with poor finish can affect use of rack and shelving as well as use of fork lift trucks.
